In Spanish club, we learned a little about Xochimilco, a city about 50 miles south of Mexico City. This area of Mexico still uses canals and rivers and their main mode of transportation. This was the norm for the indigenous people of Mexico before the Spanish arrived. A very popular tourist attraction in Xochimilco allows you to rent a colorful raft and take a tour. On the tour, people visit a large flower market as well as floating vendors and mariachis along the way.
